James went to Phelps in 1794. In 1822 he got sub-division lot 41, Town of Phelps, on the Canandaigua Outlet, near Junius. He was Supervisor in 1828 and 1829, and again in 1832 and 1833
Jacobus/James Vandemark was the son of Lodewycke/Lodewick and Gerritje/Charity (Van Auken) Vandemark. He was the husband of Nancy (Humphrey) Vandemark. He was 62 years of age at the time of his death.
