Biography

Jacob Frese Vandemark was born November 3, 1810[1]in Marbletown, New York. He was the son of John Ennes Vandermark and Catherine Cushneham. He was baptised on January 27, 1811 in Marbletown, New York with parent's as Jonn Vandemark and mother named Catrena Vandemark.[1]

He married Eleanore "Ellen, Nelly" Smith (1813-1888) ca 1831 in New York. They had 6 known children.

They made their home in Rochester, Ulster County, New York, where in 1850 He was a Laborer, and Nelly was taking care of the home and children, Elizabeth-19, Margaret-16, Egbert-10, Sarah-8, P. Jane-6, and Maria-3.[2]

He married Ann Maria___ ca. 1853, in New York.

In 1860, He and Anna Marie were living in Rochester, with (his children of wife, Eleanor/Nelly) Elizabeth-24, Egbert-19, Sarah C-17, Phoebe Jane-15, and Maria H-12 in the home. He and Egbert were working as Farm laborers.[4]

At age 59, in 1870, he is listed with wife Nelly in Rochester, with their son Edward-12. [5]

He died on March 4, 1891 in Binghamton, Broome County, New York.[6]
