Lou Ella Vandiver Murray was a very religious woman who practiced her faith for many years as a Sunday School Teacher, likely at what was once named Okolona Church in Colbert County, Alabama. This author inherited her well used and loved bible. That bible is unique to most others for it is meant to be used by Sunday School Teachers. On the cover are the words engraved in gold "Holy Bible"; engraved in gold on the spine are the words "Self Pronouncing Holy Bible." Only cover still present is the front with frayed edges and a partial spine. There is no back cover. There seems to be part of another bible; or pages that are out of order and appear to match the pages still adhered to the partial cover.
