Elmira's death record doesn't indicate which cemetery she was buried in, only that she was buried in Powassan. I've tried to track it down by other means with no success so far. The local cemeteries were operated by cemetery boards. When the municipality took them over, there were a lot of records missing. They don't have a record of her burial, but there are a lot of unmarked graves that they don't have records for.
The undertaker was James McArthur who sold his business in 1926 to Herman & Enid Paul. The funeral home has since remained in the Paul family. However, the funeral home burned down in 1982 and all records prior to 1973 were lost.
My goal is to try to find the newspaper archives from that time period and hopefully locate her obituary. But that will likely require travelling at some point unless someone else is able to access those records first.
Note that i've come across alternate spellings of the last name depending on which branch of the family you follow...Vandusen vs. Vanduzen.
