Levinus was born in 1845. Levinus Van Dusen ... [1]

Birth: Jun. 19, 1798 Greene County New York, USA Death: Jun. 13, 1878 Ionia County Michigan, USA

Levinus Van Dusen was born on June 19, 1798 in Greene Co, New York. His father Levinus b1745 was 53 and his mother Sarah Humphrey was 48. In the early 1800's the family moved just across the border to Saltfleet Twp in Ontario, Canada. He married Lydia Jones on March 31, 1819 in Wentworth, Canada. They had six children in the 25 years between 1820 and 1845. Levinus & Lydia had 3 known daughters in the 1st ten years of their marriage, then came 3 known sons in the next 15 years. He passed away on June 13, 1878 in Orange, Ionia Co, Michigan having lived a long life of 79 years. His spouse Lydia passed away some 17 years earlier in Ontario, Canada where she was laid to rest. After some considerable research it has been determined that he was actually Laid to Rest near his Daughter Sarah & Son-in-Law in this cemetery (see F.A.G #24720115 - which shows the adjacent corner of this same Grave Marker on the left hand side - the right hand side is his daughter Elizabeth #24720223.) The smaller stones are the actual graves. The 0riginal Listing had him as Leviness Rittenburgh in the confusion of who was actually buried here. The 0ther listing attached below is actually a Cenotaph in his memory next to his wife Lydia in Canada. [1]

Both FAG memorials are Van Dusen. Names at birth were spelt phonetically. Once merge is completed, the duplicated sibs can be merged.
