Roscoe was born in September of 1863. The 1870 Census was taken during June of 1870 and the forms had to be in by September of that year. Roscoe would have been 6 years old during the census. What this shows is that Paris really was his first name, and that "Paris Vanover" and "Roscoe Vanover", listed separately in other sources, are actually one and the same person
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Roscoe by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
