Biography

Jana Vardeman Diamond was born in 1961, in Lubbock, Texas.

I became interested in genealogy as a child, when my grandparents told me stories about my relatives. It was fascinating, as a small child, to hear about the famous people - and the wild outlaws - that I was related to.

One of my favorites was when my paternal grandfather would tell me about his great-uncles, who were horse thieves in Oklahoma. According to my grandfather, his people moved to Texas, and changed the spelling of their last name. Another favorite was my maternal grandmother's story about the travelling salesman that "molested" one of her grandfathers' daughters. According to her story, the next time the salesman came by, her granpa shot the man, killed him, chopped him, and burned the pieces in the woodpile. They also moved and changed the spelling of their last name.

In my research, I haven't been able to find these name changes at all! But I keep looking!

Hello, I am not to sure where to start? Samuel Jackson Latimer, married to Nancy Bottoms (2nd wife). Their daughter Lydia Matilda Latimer, married a William Lafayette Shook. Their daughter Mollie Matilda Shook, married a William Adair McMillian. Their daughter Lydia Alice McMillian, married Robert Benjamin Parnell. Their son, Robert William (Bill) Parnell married Willie Bee Rountree. Their children: Billy Edgar Parnell, Donald Lee Parnell and Betty Parnell.

I have run into a wall with the Latimers and I was wondering if you had any information? I have also run into a wall with the McMillion, and was wondering if you had any information on that family branch also? If not, no problem!!! Perhaps, it might be nice to meet a distant family member. Have a great day!!! Betty sue Parnell

Hi Jana,

The last time the profile manager was here is in September. After 30 days, if there is no response from him, your proposal will become Default approval and you will be able to complete the merge.

Hi!

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!
