Biography
Mary Varney is presumed to have been born circa 1777-1781, in Bedford County, Virginia, to Elizabeth Hunter and John Varney .

On April 12, 1804, in Monroe County, Virginia, Mary married John W. Taylor .

In 1870, Mary lived with the family of her daughter Sarah Jane , who was married to Aly Smith .

Mary is presumed to have died in 1871, in Canada, Kentucky. She is buried in Big Creek Cemetery.

Research Notes
John Taylor died in 1814. No record has been found of her remarrying. Most likely any children she bore after her husband's death had a different father. ~ (Stacy-2346 /22 Nov 2023 ).
