Edward Varty was born in 1815. He was the fourth son William Varty and Anne Newby.
He was christened on 1 June 1815 at St. Helens, Bishopsgate, London[1]. His father was a Linen Draper of Bishopsgate Street.
Sadly three of his siblings died young; Anne in 1813, aged 9, Christopher in 1815 at the age of 3, and Anne (who was born in 1817) died in 1822 at the age of 6.

Edward ran his printing business from 25 Camomile Street in Bishopsgate, Middlesex (recorded in the London Directory in 1843). In 1847 he was advertising on page 1 of the Globe dated 27 March:
His father Varty-35|William died in 1845 at the age of 75.

His mother Ann passed away on 7 November 1865.

Edward was still living at 10 Manor Road, Holloway, Middlesex when he passed away on 12 June 1878 at the age of 63, unmarried.
He was buried on 17 June 1878 at Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington, London Borough of Hackney, Greater London, England. PLOT: Sec. F07, Grave 024236[5].
His Will was Proved at the Principal Registry by Mary Varty of 10 Manor Road (his sister) and Augustus Smith Foster (his brother in law), the Executors. Personal Estate under £25,000.
