When Christmas 1957 were getting close and I was "due", my parents decided that my mother should travel to her parents in Hamar. Because of a shortage of suitable appartments in Oslo at that time, my parents didn't have a place to stay with a baby. Therefore I was born in Furnes outside Hamar, 3 Jan 1958. I lived my first 3 years in Oslo, then my parents moved to Lillehammer. In 1965 we all moved to Hamar where I lived until doing my military service in 1977/1978. After 4 years in Bergen and another 6 years in Oslo I moved back to Hamar with my wife and 2 children. I still live in the house we built in 1988.
I have been doing genealogy research from about 1980. In the beginning mostly my own ancestors in the Hedmarken area (Stange and Ringsaker) and Toten area on the west side of lake Mjøsa. I have also been following the paths of lots of emigrants in my own family to the USA. Lately I have been digging into my Krødsherrad/Hallingdal-roots on my fathers mothers side. All this years I also have done a lot of work with transcribing sources (mostly church records, but also some censuses). Helping decendants of emigrants find their Norwegian roots has always been a pleasure.

Thanks for having a Big Heart and adopting Orphan Profiles. You will want to read this After adopting orphans FAQ to understand what to do next and it explains the special attention those profiles need.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Thank you for your 14 contributions to the November Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand Pre-1700 Profiles These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Thank you for upgrading, you are now a family member of the Wikitree community. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a tour for new members How To the How to pages, really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around
I would recommend adding tags like your surname, your mother and grandmother's maiden surnames and the country of your family origins. Clicking your green tags shows who is following the tag. Adding surname tags improves links to the community, research options and projects. If a tag only comes back to you the tag will need amending to link into the community. To add Tags: My Tags
Check out our very active forum ask questions. There you can post questions, join projects and challenges, and learn more about the WikiTree community.
