George was, I believe, baptised on the 3rd August 1828. The entry from the Bishops transcripts of the parish church of Manchester attest to this, [1] his parents are given as William a shoemaker and Sarah. His father's occupation is the clue, George and his father are shown as shoemakers on George's marriage entry from st James church Birkdale, in the county of Manchester. However George's age is a little out of sync here, at his marriage in 1858 [2] he is 27 and on the 1861 census return his age is also given as 27. the maths is a little out here, at his marriage he should be 30 and on the census he should be 32/33.
I've not yet been able to pinpoint his death, he is alive for his daughter Elizabeth's wedding, which took place on the 6th April 1889.
