John Vaughan, Full Age, Bachelor, Labourer, of Pentre, (son of John Vaughan, deceased, Miller) & Emma Powell, Minor, Spinster, of Pentre, (daughter of James Powell, Labourer) were married in the Parish Church of Ystradyfodwg St. John, Glamorganshire, Wales on 25th October 1875 according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church, after Banns by William Lewis, Vicar. John & Emma both signed their names. Witnesses were Francis Gill & Ellenor Harries. ^{[2] [3]}
