NOTE: This Vaughan family is thought to be of Welsh descent.

There is an Augustus Vaughan age 30 (b-1820) on the 1850 Amelia Co., VA Census with no wife noted but two daughters; Ann O. Vaughan b-1844 and Mary S. Vaughan b-1846 (all persons born in Virginia)

It is possible he was Harriet Vaughan's brother and their father was named Augustus Vaughan. I will assume their father was the Augustus Vaughan b- circa 1804 in Amelia Co., VA and died in 1851 per posting on FamilyTree.org. His wife was noted as Mary Spencer Farmer b- circa 1816 in Amelia Co., VA (could explain why the younger Augustus Vaughan would name a daughter Mary).

On her son (William Dabney Miller's death certificate his mother is noted as "Agusta Vaughan" born in "Amelia Co." His father 'Miller' is also noted as born in Amelia Co., VA.

William Dabney Miller's occupation noted on his death certificate is "Policeman".
