This Indenture made and entered into this 2lst day of July eighteen hundred and fourteen between Almond Vaughan and Joanna his wife Thomas Vaughan and Anna his wife Charles Miles and Patty his wife, William Hansbrough and Sally his wife, Peter Vaughan and Sally his wife of Culpeper County, and. William Vaughan and Betsey his wife and George Vaughan and Sooky his wife of Nelson County, Children and heirs of William Vaughan dec of Culpeper County of the one part, and Thomas Fitzhugh of Fauquier County of the other part, witnesseth that the said Heirs and Representatives of William Vaughan dec'd, for and ln consideration of the sum of three thousand five hundred and forty five dollars and fifty cents to them in hand paid the receipt where of they do hereby acknowledge, have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said Thomas Fitzhugh his heirs and assigns all of one certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being ln the County of Culpeper except one eight part of the said Tract to which the heirs of John Vaughan dec'd are entitled as to heirs of William Vaughan dec'd containing by a late survey executed by John Grinnan County Surveyor of two hundred and fifty three acres and one fourth being a part of the tract of land purchased by the said William Vaughan Dec'd of Thomas Catlett containing four hundred acres as will appear by reference to the records of the County Court of Culpeper and Bounded as follows...[description omitted for brevity] ...In Testimony whereof they the said Almond.
