Biography

Louisa Vaughan was born in 1837 in Gillingham, Dorset, England to William Henry Vaughan and Ann (Hill) Vaughan. She was christened in Gillingham on 12 Feb 1837.^[1]

In 1841 'Lusa' Vaughan (age 4) lived at The Street in Longparish, Hampshire with her father William (30-34), mother Ann (25-29), and younger sister Elizabeth (1).^[2]

In 1851 'Lucy' Vaughan (age 14) lived in Longparish with her father William (40, Wheeler), mother Ann (37), and three younger sisters: Elizabeth (11), Emma (5), and Sarah (2).^[3]

Louisa Vaughan married Frederick William Barrett in 1858. The marriage was registered in Kensington, London in the last quarter of the year.^[4]

Louisa and Frederick had seven children: Edward William Barrett (1859-), George James Barrett (1861-), Henry John Barrett (1863-), Emma Barrett (1866-1866), William Frederick Barrett (1867-), Louisa Barrett (1871-), and Elizabeth Barrett (1875-1876).

In 1861 Louisa Barrett (age 24) lived at Cape of Good Hope in Upton cum Chalvey, Buckinghamshire with her husband Fredrick (27, Gardener) and two sons: Edward (1) and George (0).^[5]

In 1871 Louisa Barrett (age 34) lived in Upton cum Chalvey with her husband Frederick W (38, Agricultural Labourer) and three of her sons: George J (10, Scholar), Henry J (8, Scholar), and William F (5, Scholar).^[6] Her eldest son, Edward (11, Oil Shop Boy), lived with Louisa's sister Sarah Walton in Brentford, Middlesex.

In 1881 Louisa Barratt (age 44) lived in Upton cum Chalvey with her husband Frederick William (47, Garden Labourer), son William Frederick (13, Scholar), and daughter Louisa (9, Scholar).^[7]

In 1891 Louisa Barrett (age 54) lived at Ealing Road in Ealing, Middlesex with her husband Frederick W (57, Gardener), daughter Louisa (19, Assistant School Mistress), and grandson Henry E Barrett (9, Scholar).^[8]

In 1901 Louisa Barrett (age 64) lived at Ealing Road in Old Brentford, Middlesex with her husband Frederick Wm (67, Gardener), grandson Henry Ed Barrett (19, Journeyman Baker), and boarder Richard Edw Mountford (25, Carpenter & Joiner).^[9]

In 1911 Louisa Barrett (age 74) lived in Brentford with her husband Frederick William (77, Formerly Gardener).^[10]

Louisa's husband passed away in 1912.

Louisa Barrett passed away in 1928, aged 91 years. Her death was registered in Brentford in the third quarter of the year.^[11]
