Samuel did not appear with his father and two older brothers in the 1764 tithables list of Lunenburg Co., Va. He first appears in Mecklenburg Co., Va. in Deed Book 04.152 on 10 Sep 1773 living adjacent to his older brother John. Assuming he was age 21, this would mean all we can prove is that he was b. before 1752. All we know about his eldest sons is that they were b. by 1775 which is consistent with him being b. before 1752. He was the son of William T Vaughan. He passed away in very late 1797 as his will was admitted to probate on 2 Jan 1798.
