Biography

Nancy was born in 1787. She was the daughter of James Vaughn and Susannah Wilkins. According to the War of 1812 Pension Application made by Mariam Martin on her husband Ewell Martin, Nancy Vaughn Martin died in New Madrid, Missouri in the spring of 1844[1]. She states Ewell was born in Virginia and lived in Oglethorpe when he served in the war and since the war had lived in Oglethorpe, Franklin, and Jackson Counties in Georgia then moved to Missouri and back to Madison County, Georgia. Note - images of the two statements from the pension file are attached to Ewell Martin.
