Biography
Riley was born in 1809 in Tennessee to James Vaughn and Sarah. In 1831, in Franklin County, Missouri, he married Mary (Polly) Cole Wall, a widow with a son, John Wall. Riley and Polly had two children Joseph Andrew and Mary Ann. They moved to Pulaski County before 1840 and Polly died sometime after that. About 1847, he married Lucinda McCourtney Hamilton, a young widow. They had four children, Elvira, William Riley, Laton Lawson, and Mahala, but both Elvira and Mahala, and Lucinda died before 1860. A few years later, Riley married Timpy Mahala Clark and their son Joshua was born in 1864, but Timpy died soon after. In 1865 Riley married Timpy's sister, Sarah Adaline Clark..lHe passed away in 1884
