Biography
Nancy Jane Veazey was born in Sheridan, Arkansas. She was the sixth of eight children. When she was 17, she married Walter E. Griffin. He died around 1896. They had four known children, Arthur G., William, Ruth and Vians. By 1898, Nancy and her family were living in Atkins, Arkansas. On December 8, 1898, she married William Patterson, who was 30 years older than she was. Together, they had six sons, Burton, Benjamin,Oad Brewster, Jesse Boyd and Bryant, and one daughter, Nancy Bethel. They moved over the state line to Summerfield, Oklahoma in Le Flore County around 1905, judging from 1910 census records regarding the children's birthplaces. Nancy was widowed in 1926 and died on January 20, 1941.
