Biography

James was born about 1715.

The following militia records may pertain to (this) James Verity. The Second Annual Report and Third Annual Report of the State Historian of the State of New York, Albany, New York, 1897, 551, 856,861, 907.

"On___ 1758, a James Verrity (also as Veritie) was a member of the Queens County Militia commanded by Capt Richard Hewlett. Born in Queens, he enlisted at age 19 on 10 April 1758 and was then 5'5" inches tall, a cordwainer, who had a fair complexion"

On 31 March 1759 (age 20) he reenlisted in Richard Hewletts company,

On 14 April 1760, he reenlisted in Capt. Wright Company.

James was born about 1720. He is the son of William Verity and Susannah Sanson.
