Between 1529 and 1532, Thomas Fouleshurst of Crewe, esquire, sued William Lyversedge, gentleman, and Isabel, late the wife of Rauf Vernon of Haslington, for the wardship and marriage of Robert, son and heir of Rauf, granted to William and Isabel by Letters Patent dated 1 September, 15 Henry VIII [22 April 1523-21 April 1524], and bought of them by Thomas to secure his sister Cecile's marriage to Robert, and her jointure out of his lands.[2]
