European Aristocracy
Sybil Vescy was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Keats-Rohan describes Sybil as Sybil de Vescy, without explaining sources. Probably her source is Hedley, Northumberland Families, cited by Keats-Rohan and maybe the basis of http://www.multiwords.de/genealogy/bzmisc09.htm which looks consistent with differences between Keats-Rohan and other authors.

That the Bolebec family had a Vescy connection makes sense from later records. MEDLANDS notes one record which is difficult to connect with the others:[1] A charter from Alnwick Abbey from the time of Edward II, describing the descendents of their founder records that Cecilia the sister of Eustace de Vescy (b. abt 1170, son of William) was given to “Hugoni de Bolbek seniori, qui genuit Walterum [Cawley says error for Hugoni] de Bolbek, qui Hugonem juniorem, qui Feliciam [Cawley presumes should be Phillipa] matrem domini Johannis de Lancastria”.[2] The record seems to contain errors, but must contain a memory of real connections.

Also in 1262 when Hugh de Bolebec died, his IPM showed several manors held of the lord of Vescy, for castle guard and suit at the court of Alnwick.[3]

Sybil was also apparently an important person for the family's history. Her son Walter consistently mentioned her in his charter, even calling her is lord and mother, and in legal disputes in 1207, her Hugh and the wife of her elder son Walter, mentioned her several times.[4]

It seems from that evidence that Sybil had wardship over her son Walter, and arranged various things while he was a minor, which had to be confirmed again later.

Vesey-60 and Vesey-14 appear to represent the same person because: same data and husband

Vescy-3 and Vesey-14 appear to represent the same person because: same husband, looks like a variation on the spelling of the name
