James Vidler (the Younger) was born on 13 August 1856 in Jamberoo, New South Wales, Australia[1], the son of James Vidler and Catherine Duffy and the brother of Eliza (Vidler) Berg, Catherine Ann Vidler, James Vidler, Hannah Vidler, Harriet Vidler, George Vidler and Margaret Vidler
He married Mary Eleanor Wilson on 20 July 1882 at Berrima, New South Wales, Australia[2] and their children were Eleanor Vidler, John James Vidler, Male Vidler, Robert James Vidler, Catherine Violet Vidler, John Charles Vidler, William Frederick Vidler, Wilson Harold Vidler and Cecil George Vidler.
James, with his two sons, Robert and Charles, was engaged in scrub felling when he was struck by a falling sapling[3] and died after lingering a few days and having an arm amputated[4]. He died on 23 July 1911 in Bellingen, New South Wales, Australia [5][6].
