Biography

Jacob Vieillard (Jacque Vieillar) was born in September 10, and baptized September 15, 1667 in Otterberg, Bayern, Germany.[1] He was the son of Nicolaus Vieillard & Katherine Grosjean.[2]
OR
(Alternately) Dr. Jakob Vieillard was born on September 15, 1667, in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria, Germany, to Catherine Boye, age 30, and Nicolaus Vieillard, age 32.

It is thought that all of the Willards originally came from France and during the Huguenot persecution they fled to England and Germany.
Jacobs descendants became “The Willards of Maryland” (as opposed to the Simon Willard descendants of New England). The book: “Life and Times of Major Simon Willard” has a chapter on the Maryland Willard.[3]
The book above says that 3 brothers (DeWalt, Peter & Caspar) and 1 sister (Catherine) left Upper Mallingea, Palts (Pfaltz) Germany and came to Maryland in 1746, landing in Philadelphia.

Jakob Vieillar married Maria Elisabeth Gordier, Oct 15, 1680 in Bavaria, Germany. They resided in Erlenbach where he was a surgeon and supposedly affiliated with the Kaiser while he resided at his nearby summer residence.
They had four children in 11 years.

Jakob died on September 29, 1717, in Erlenbach, Germany, at the age of 50. OR he died in 1721. His 4th child, Anna Catherine was b Dec 21, 1721. One of these dates is obvioiusly wrong.

Jakob's wife, emigrated to America with her son Johann Peter in 1744. After Jakob's death in 1717, Maria emigrated to American with her son, Johan Peter, in 1744, along with Johan Peter's wife, Magdalena Maria. They arrived in 1744 aboard the Friendship in Philadelphia and resided near Thurmont, Maryland near the Graceham Moravian Church.
