Francisco Montes Vigil II had two sons named Juan Bautista, one with each wife. His brother Domingo also had a son named Juan Bautista. Many of the marriage records in Santa Cruz in this period are missing, including most of this family's records. Without marriage records, it is extremely difficult to link the child in the baptism record with the married adult. New Mexico genealogists have given their best guess based on other evidence but no one knows for certain at this time which Juan Bautista was married to each woman. I'm using the information María C. Martínez used in her two digital books, Some Descendants of Domingo Montes Vigil'[3] and Descendants of Francisco Montes Vigil II.[4]Korte-201 04:26, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
