Biography

Luther was born on 9 Dec 1805 at Waltham, Middlesex, Massachusetts, the son of John Jr. Viles and Lydia Peirce (Pierce).^[1]

Eliza Pierce and Luther P. Viles were married on 23 Apr 1832 in Waltham.^[2]

In 1850, Luther P. Viles, a 40 year old shoe maker, lived in Waltham with four other Viles.^[3]

In 1855, Luther was living in Waltham with wife Eliza and three children.^[4]

He died on 18 Apr 1884 in the District of Columbia. He was a widower.^[5] He is buried in an unmarked grave at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Washington, District of Columbia, District Of Columbia: Plot: Van Ness, Lot 206 East.^[6]
