The ELLIS family, parents, Richard and Amy, daughters Jane, Maria and Emma, set sail aboard the ship, JOHN from London on 12 Sep 1839. The ship left the Downs on 20 Sep 1839 and sailed into Adelaide 5 Feb 1840[2]. Aboard the same ship were 2 married daughters, Sophia and her husband Edward Lea PALMER and Sarah and her family, husband Uriah HEARNS and sons Andrew and Richard.
She passed away on 13 June 1867 in Athelstone, South Australia, Australia[3] and was buried at the Athelstone Independent Cemetery, Athelstone, Campbelltown City, South Australia, Australia[4]
