hi, thanks for the message. When merging two profiles it is always a bit of a difficulty with different spellings so I always try to find a source which supports the spelling. If the spelling is wrong because the sources were transcribed wrongly or there was no clear indicator either way, it can always be changed post-merge if necessary. The important thing is that we have only one profile for each person then make them as correct as we possibly can. Regards, Gillian

As far as research is currently accurate all known direct Smiths fall into a corridor equivalent to I-80 from NY to CA/WA

re: Thanks for the tip on Mary Vinson who married Britain Lockhart.

That's fantastic!! I am so wanting to connect all of these lost lines. Maybe we can build out these lines a bit??? If you are up to it. Thank you for connecting Britian and Mary. I am pretty sure I have a date guess for Britain so that is the age issue. More research is needed. My mantra :)

Question: Was the name at the time, Vinson? or Vincent? Either way, maybe we should add both as needed as other name known as???

I found the note and added the kids in the bio. The only one attached as a profile is correct. I also added the references. Thanks again for your help!

All fixed. All bad connections removed. Unfortunately, I forgot that the merge would erase the bulletin board note so if you could please add the children to the bio and your source also. If the kid that is connected is wrong, let me know and I will fix that.

Thanks for all the help! I project protected it and added it to the US Southern Colonies Project.

I set the profiles as unmerged matches - always a good idea so that they don't get default approved in 30 days.

Wow! This isn't my profile but I have looked at it before. What a mess, huh? Let's see if we can get this cleaned up.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the notes on Stephen Seay! I will try to incorporate them. My Seay line descends from James M but I like to try to work on all of the ones where there is some info. This will be very helpful!

I guess you are right. I listed no proof that My Ann Golson is your Anne Golson. But my Ann Golson is buried in Orangeburg SC with her first husband James Leysath. She is the mother of my GG Grandmother SeƱora Belle Leysath Bonnett Varner was widowed in Orangeburg. She took her small son Josiah "Joseph" Benjamin Bonnett to join Golson family in Coosa County Alabama. She married Varner there and is buried in the Providence Baptist Cemetery in Coosa County, Alabama. Ann Golson was widowed as well and married a Kennerly and I believe had two daughters by him. I have not gotten around to entering those yet but will eventually. Joseph Bonnett's children borrow heavily from the names of the children of James and Ann (Golson) Leysath's children's names. I have also not them all yet.
