Unlikely that he was born in London, 115 miles away, especially given that the family was already in Fontmell before this time. More likely he was descended from the Richard Vincent, Yeoman of Fontmell who wrote will in 1615. He had surviving sons named John, Thomas, and Richard.

Name: Richardi Vincent [Richard Vincent] Residence: Fountmell, Dorset, England Probate Date: 11 Nov 1615 Death Year: Abt 1615

Hi Monica, could you possibly add the will?

I didn't make a transcript, just noted in my tree that the 1615 Richard's wife was named Johane, and his children named John, Thomas, Richard and Jane. Overseer was William Mouncton, aka Monk and that one of overseers was a John Still (noted because I have Stile/Still ancestors in 16th century Wilts, and tend to notice the name. He also mentions a Christopher Vincent.

If you don't have Ancestry you can get the will from the National Archives for free by making a free account. Because of the pandemic they are waiving fees for previously scanned documents, like wills.
