Settlement Order ( East Sussex Record Office) Ref PAR/353/32/1/53 dated 13th March, 1753.
Edward Erry and Abigail Vyne with their children Edward, John, Thomas, Joseph, William, Elizabeth and Abigail, were removed from Hailsham to Wartling, they were a poor family.
The Orders were sought by the Overseas of the Poor for the parish which was trying to get rid of them, not wanting those who had moved in from elsewhere to become a charge on their own parish funds.
