Anna is the daughter of Erik Visser and Antoinette Hensey.
Anna was born in Holland and grew up in Co. Galway. She went to St Annins National School, Mercy Convent Galway, and Seamount College Kinvara. She went to the National University of Ireland, Galway and graduated in 1999 with a BA. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2000, with an MA in International Studies.
Anna is currently Director of the European Anti Poverty Network Ireland. For eight years, Anna has worked in policy and development roles in the statutory and NGO sectors at regional, national and international level, in the areas of anti-racism, equality, human rights and conflict resolution.
Anna met Charles in a bar in Galway when she was 18 and has never looked back since, they got married in Dublin in 2001 and now live in Dublin with their boss, 2 year old Lorna.
At the moment Anna has a broken toe and lorna has recently acquired some crutches.
Anna is sister to the incredibly attractive Medb McCarthy.....(lucky Anna).
