Biography

Sir Vyell Vyvyan of Trevidren (Cornwall) and Knight, married Margaret, the daughter of Christopher count of Kildare in Ireland. [1] (Research note: The last name of Margaret needs to be investigated. Also, have not been able to find her father Christopher, count of Kildare. Kildare is a place name but it is unclear if that was actually their last name. Have seen trees with Christopher as possible son of Gerald FitzMaurice but can't find a source.)

"The visitations of Cornwall : comprising the Heralds' visitations of 1530, 1573, & 1620" created by Vivian, J. L. (John Lambrick) 1830-1896 and the College of Arms (Great Britain), contains reproductions of the Herald's visits to Cornwall in addition to church and family records. A pedigree for the Vyvyans of Trevidren can be found on page 527 beginning with Ralph Vyvyan. In The Visitations of Cornwall: 1530, 1573 & 1620, there is a notation with the name of Sir Vyell Vyvyan: '28 Hen III'. This would indicate that he was living in the year 1244. [2] In this version of the Cornwall visitations, he is listed as the father of Lucam, Sir Ralph of Trevidren, Knight, son and eventual heir, and Joane. Noted with the names Lucam and Ralph is the following: '1 Ed I, Cor. Reg. Roll 3 & 4, Pasch. 1 Ed I. This indicates that Lucam[3] and Sir Ralph Vyvian[3] are listed in these rolls in 1273. (Source confirmation needed here.)

The following is a quote from the "Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society annual report for 1937.
"The earliest known ancestor of the Vyvyans of Trelowarren in the male line is one Vivian, whose son Ralph is mentioned in a Patent Roll of the 14th year of King John. Ralph son of Vivian married Isabel, daughter of William de Bodrugan, and his son Sir Violl Vyvian of Trevidran in Buryan, who married Margaret, daughter of Christopher Earl of Kildare, was living in 28 Hen. III."[4]

Maybe I am completely confused but from the document attached is seems that Vivian-204 and Vivian-48 are the same person and that the dates here can't be correct and that Violl (Vivian-204 is the correct one? Please excuse me if I am out of my depth here. Am I missing something? I am digging to find more sources.

His Children:

(Visitations of Cornwall comprising the Heralds' Visitations of 1530, 1573, & 1620. With Additions by Lieutenant-Colonel J. L. Vivian., William Pollard & co. Exeter, 1887) p.687. Has only 3 children for Sr. Violl Vivian - Lucam Vivian of Trevidren (1 Ed !, Cor. Reg. Roll etc.; Sr. Raph ("l" omitted) of Trevidren Kt. etc., and Joane, wife to Sr. Bartholomew Greenvile Kt. of Stowe. The earlier edition of the Visitations without editors additions has only Joane and Raph, which appeared in the pedigree given in Harlean. MSS 1079 fo. 37 and 1091 fo. 102. Anne thus appears to be fantasy. Lucam and Lucean may be duplicates? Are there other sources?

Vivian-188 and Vivian-48 appear to represent the same person because: The birth dates and locations are the same, but one has a spouse; the other has the parents.

Could these be a match??
