Emanuel Beever Vivian was born in 1846 in St Ives, Cornwall, England to Johnson Vivian and Maria (Toll) Vivian. His birth was registered in Liskeard, Cornwall in the last quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Toms [Toll].[1]
In 1851 Emmanuel Vivian (age 4, Scholar) lived at Gloucester Street in St Helier, Jersey, Channel Island in the household of his grandmother Sophia Toll (60, Lodging House Keeper), along with his mother Maria (27, Ironer), father John (36, Miner (Journeyman)), and three siblings: Sophia (10, Scholar), Edmund (6, Scholar), and Elizabeth (0), as well as five lodgers.[2]
Emanuel's father Johnson Vivian passed away in 1859.
In 1861 Emanuel Vivian (age 14, Copper Miner) lived at Horrabridge in Sampford Spiney, Devonshire with his mother Marica (38, Shop Keeper Grocer & Assistant) and five siblings: Sophia (20), Edmund (16, Copper Miner), Elizabeth (10), Robert (8, ...Miner), and Mary (4), as well as lodger James Robbins (22, Copper Miner).[3]
Emanuel Vivian passed away on 8 Jul 1868 in Cramlington, Northumberland, aged 21 years. His death was registered in Tynemouth, Northumberland in the third quarter of the year.[4] Emanuel Beever Vivian was buried at St Nicholas Churchyard in Cramlington on 11 Jul 1868[5] - he shares a gravestone with his brother-in-law Joseph Northmore and niece Ann Maria Northmore.[6]
