Johann George Vogel was born about 1753 in Germany. He came to Philadelphia on the ship Charming Molly, arriving 22 Oct 1773. In 1777 he married Elizabeth Weid in Philadelphia. They lived in Bucks County, PA, and then in Easton, Northampton County, PA, where George was an innholder. He died in Easton in 1795.
