Biography
Anje was born 28 July 1885 in Usquert, Groningen, Nederland . She was the daughter of Rense Vogel and Geertje van der Zwaag.[1][2]
6 October 1906 Anje Vogel, 21 years old, married Ferdinand de Vries, 34 years old, in Usquert, Groningen, Nederland. She was a dienstmeid (house servant) and he was a daglooner (Day-Labourer).[3]
1906 or 1907 they immigrated to the United States. In 1910 they were living in Wyoming, Kent, Michigan, United States with a son and a daughter. Fred was a packer at the Alabatine Co.[4]
1920 Fred was working his own farm in Caldwell Township, Missaukee, Michigan, United States. They had 4 more children.

26 October 1925 Their 11 year old daughter Grace Devries died in Gunplain, Allegan, Michigan, United States.[6]
1930 Fred was a farmer in Gunplain, Allegan, Michigan, United States. Herman was a cooker tender at the paper mill. Gertrude had married and Ransom had left home. Two more children had been born so they had 5 still at home. Herman 23, John 17, Andrew 12, Della 10, William 4 were all born in Michigan.
