Walram was born in 1220. He was count of Nassa. Passed away before 1280. He was buried in the castle of Nassau. He served emporer (keizer) Rudolf I as opperhofmaarschalk and geheimraad.
On December 17, 1255 he split the proprties of Nassau with his brother Otto I. Walram received the area south of Lahn with cities Weilburg, Idstein and Wiesbaden.
He married ca 1250 with Adelheid von Katzenelnbogen, who passed away in Mainz on February 22, 1288, buried in the convent of St Clara. Adelheid was a daughter of Diederik IV, count of Katzenelnbogen and Hildegonde (van Eberstein ?).
