The first name of the father of Annetie Barents and Barent Barentsen is known to us only from their patronymics. He does not appear in the Burgerbuch. From the Amsterdam Doop-, Trouw-, en Begraafregisters (Baptism, Marriage and Burial Registers, DTB) indexes it is evident that the city had several contemporary residents named Barent Barentsen, who are usually recorded without any additional surname.
The man with whom we are concerned had children baptized in the Lutheran Church, but so did several contemporaries also named Barent Barentsen. As the Lutheran baptismal registers for the period do not give the child's mother's name, it is very difficult to distinguish the children of one Barent from those of another.
"Annetie's father seems to have died by 1632, and about then her mother was living on Schaepensteegje (Sheep Alley) in Amsterdam, Holland"
Research Notes
On 10 May 2021, Barry Smith detached a profile that had been attached to Barent as a daughter, Grietje Unknown, per a comment on her profile and a G2G post, having received no objection. See also the case against these parents presented on a freespace page.
The van Rotmers family seems to have originated on the North German coast at the mouth of the Elbe River just east of Cuxhaven, in two towns that are called, respectively, Altenbruch and Otterndorf in German and Oudebroek and Aterendorp in Dutch. The area is now part of the state of Niedersachsen, and was formerly included in Hannover.[5]
There is a family in Otterndorf with the surname RÖTTMER, as shown by numerous entries (the earliest from 1592) in Richard TIENSCH, Das alteste Burgerbuch der Stadt Ottendorf (1587-1773), 1964 and II. Burgerbuch der Stadt Ottendorf (1774-1920), 1971.

Van Rotmers-7 and Von Rotmers-7 appear to represent the same person because: Profile was created in an imported gedcom. Birth year is inaccurate and missing most information. Has same wife and daughter. Keep LNAB Von Rotmers
I think the parents added here were not his parents, see the post + online genealogy added there, it's no source but I think we can verify and find sources for the info from that genealogy, the couple was from the 1800's so a few decades later.
So unless someone has some proof or records that show they actually were Barent Rotmers parents we probably could correct things and remove them as barents parents ?
Von Rotmerz-1 and Von Rotmers-4 appear to represent the same person because:
It looks like this profile was started to represent the same person as well, no sources for it , so maybe this one should be just merged away now . At least if the Von Rotmers name is correct of course ..
Rottmers-1 and Von Rotmers-4 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the corrected name form. No tree conflicts. Thanks!
Mohawk-4 and Von Rotmers-4 appear to represent the same person because: There is no real evidence other than whatever mythology happens to be in an inaccessible Ancestry tree that this father of Grietje was a Native American, so let's just merge this unlikely Native father away into the Dutch NNS PPP father so that we can get rid of the extra Mohawk profile, and then merge away the duplicate profile for the daughter Grietje next. There is far too much of this unverified mythological nonsense cluttering up WikiTree, so unless somebody can prove it, then let's just get rid of it. Thanks!

Will mark them Uncertain for now.
Greets and thanks for the help it's appreciated,

Hi ,
These can be merged as well :)
It looks like this profile was started to represent the same person as well, no sources for it , so maybe this one should be just merged away now . At least if the Von Rotmers name is correct of course ..
