Biography

Kurt Vonnegut, Sr. was born on November 24, 1884 to Bernard and Nannie (Schnull) Vonnegut.

He was an architect and partner in the firm of Vonnegut & Bohn. Some of his works include the Anderson Bank Building in Anderson, Indiana and the Schultz department store in Lafayette, Indiana.

He attended Shortridge High School followed by the American College in Strasbourg and later the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1908.

He married Edith Lieber in 1913. They had three children. Bernard, Alice and Kurt.
