Biography

George Augustus Vroom Jr. is a member of the Vroom Name Study Project.

George Augustus Vroom, Jr. graduated from Rutgers in 1884; went to Camden, New Jersey and studied law; and was admitted to the bar in 1885. After a successful career as an attorney in Camden, he was appointed Law Judge for Camden County in 1893 and held the position until 1897. He and his family are found in the 1900 census, as follows ...

Judge Vroom married Laura Alicia Foster Campion on November 15, 1887, and they had just three children: (1) Guysbert Bogart Vroom born on December 6, 1888, who married Helen Leffingwell McConaughy; (2) Gettine Vroom born on December 15, 1889, who married Roscoe Conkling David; and (3) Constance Vroom born on February 3, 1893, who married Eddie James Estess.

Judge Vroom died on June 6, 1901 and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Camden, New Jersey.
