Obituary:

"William Logan Waddle, 77, general chairman of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers on the Southern Railroad for 14 years until his retirement in 1938, died this morning at the Kenwick Hotel. Mr. Waddle was nationally known in railroad circles for his work in the union and frequently made trips to Washington, D.C. in the interest of the brotherhood until ill health caused his retirement.

During his years of service with the railroad he earned the admiration and respect of employees and management alike, and his devotion to duty and interest in the welfare of his fellow workers was an inspiration to all. His courage through pain and illness and his unswerving faith in the goodness of God were an example to all who knew him. He was a member of the First Methodist Church here and was loyal in his attendance so long as his health permitted.

The son of the late John and Emily Waddle, he was united in marriage to Louise Colyer on Jan. 26, 1890, and to this union eight children were born, six of whom survive. She preceded him in death several years and he later married Mrs. Mary Gover Tate, who survives. The surviving children are Mrs. Grace Hawkins, of Lexington, Mrs. Bertha Hamilton, of Detroit, Mrs. Dora Smith, of Covington, Mrs. Carlie Wynn, of Connersville, Ind., and James D. and Baute Waddle, both of Somerset. Wesley and Laura Waddle preceded their father in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at the First Methodist Church Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, the Rev. J.W. Weldon presiding. Interment will be in the City Cemetery."
