The petition was granted[14] and they both signed the administration bond to begin probate on their father's estate on 7 Nov 1826. They gave their professions as housewright (Nathaniel) and gentleman (William). Standing as sureties for the bond were Joseph Hodgkins, Esq., and Samuel Wade (gentleman).[15]

The real property of the estate was valued at $2,683.00.[16] The personal property was valued at $807.12.[17] After expenses and debts were deducted, each of the three surviving children (Nathaniel Wade, William Foster Wade, and Mary Wade) would receive $584.00.[18]
