Deacon Peleg Wadsworth performed Patriotic Service in the American Revolution.

Peleg, son of John and Mercy (Wiswall) Wadsworth, was born in Duxbury, MA on August 29, 1715. About 1741 (not recorded) he married Lusanna Sampson, daughter of John and Priscilla (Bartlett) Sampson. They resided in Duxbury all their lives with eight of their thirteen children reaching adulthood. Peleg served in the Revolutionary War. He died in Duxbury on July 28, 1799 almost 11 years to the day of losing his wife. He is buried there at Mayflower Cemetery.

The will of Peleg Wadsworth, of Duxbury, yeoman was dated 3 June 1799 and proved on 5 August 1799 in Plymouth. He mentioned his children, Cephas Wadsworth, Lucia Smith, decd., Uriah Wadsworth, Peleg Wadsworth, Welthea, wife of Judah Alden, Ira Wadsworth, Dura Wadsworth, and his grandson Silvanus Smith (son of his daughter Lucia).[4]
