Biography

Abigail Wadsworth was born in Duxbury, Massachusetts, on October 25, 1670, the daughter of John Wadsworth and Abigail Andrews.[1][2]

She married Jacob Tomson in Middleborough, Massachusetts, on December 28, 1693.[3] Jacob died March 14, 1743.[4]

Abigail (Wadsworth) Tomson died in Halifax, Massachusetts, on January 15, 1744, at the age of 73.[5] She was buried at Cemetery at The Green in Middleborough, Massachusetts, where her gravestone reads:

Abigail Wadsworth and Jacob Thompson (Tomson) were the parents of 10 children, all born in Middleborough:

  4. John, born March 19, 1700-1; married Joanna Adams; died December 6, 1790.[15][16]
  5. Lydia, born April 22, 1703; married, February 2, 1725-6, John Packard; died March 15, 1789.[17][18][19]
  6. Barnabas, born January 28, 1704-5; married, March 13, 1740, Hannah Porter; died December 20, 1798.[20][21][22]
  7. Esther, born February 18, 1706-7; married, October 25, 1737, Ebenezer Bennett; died July 5, 1776.[23][24][25]
  8. Hannah, born March 10, 1708-9; married, intention November 11, 1732, Ebenezer Reed; died November 27, 1787.[26][27][28]
  9. Mary, born May 19, 1711; married, November 8, 1739, Ruben Tomson; died July 19, 1769.[29][30][31]
