Hello Dick,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. I'm a WikiTree Mentor available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may have.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me via my profile page.

Maryann ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hey Dick,

Retired teachers are the best! You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Welcome! Mags

Hi yet again

I see you have a DNA badge. Did you know we have a WikiTree project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? You will find it and WikiTree's other interesting projects by using the FIND link top right of most WikiTree pages, select PROJECTS from the drop down box. WikiTree's DNA project has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.

You might also like to read the discussions tagged with DNA in the G2G forum.

Happy WikiTreeing

Hi again

I see a new GEDCOM badge. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

Help pages give lots of info about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

Please read the instructions for reviewing your GEDMatch Report if you want to import it into WikiTree.

Discussions tagged as GEDCOM in the G2G forum may also be helpful.

Hi Richard,

Welcome as a guest to WikiTree! We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, striving for ONE collaborative profile per person.

To start:

  1. Our community is a friendly place to grow your family tree because of 9 simple rules, called our Honor Code, so please take time to read it.
  2. I found the best place to start was our help pages, menu top right - especially How to use WikiTree.
  3. Check out the Family Tree & Tools tab at the top of your profile!
  4. Feel free to ask a question at our G2G forum.

Want to Join us? Click the volunteer button and leave a comment here on your profile about agreeing with our mission and our nine simple rules.
