DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Georg by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Georg:
In The Palatine Families of New York, Jones reports that the oldest child of Peter Wagner and Maria Margaretha was Georg Philip, baptized [not born] 11 May 1708, according to church books in Dachsenhausen. Sponsor names were Geörg Philip Wagner from Dachsenhausen and Görg Philp Wagner from nearby Becheln. So there seems to be no question that his name was Georg Philip, not Georg David. Jones has no further mention of this son, so perhaps Nan Dixon is correct that he died in infancy. Jones doesn't show a Georg David among the list of children--but note that the Grandfather was Georg Philip. Jones also does not show a Johann Engelhardt, and according to Engelgardt's Wikitree profile, he was born in the same year as his famous brother, Johann Peter, Jr (1722- ). There are a number of conflations among Wikitree Wagners.
Nan Dixon (linked below) reports that there was a son, born 1708, died 1709, but named Georg David, not Georg Philip.
