Biography

Florence was born on July 13, 1920, to John and Katherine (Dietz) Wagner in Strasburg, N.D. She attended St. Benedict School and graduated from high school in 1939. Florence attended one year of college and then taught school in the Strasburg and Napoleon area and worked in the court house in Linton, N.D. She married Joseph Huber on Oct. 7, 1941, in Strasburg, N.D. They farmed in the Strasburg and Napoleon area until 1949, when they moved to a farm in the Warner and Mansfield area. In 1951, they moved to a farm in the Hosmer area until 1976, when they moved to Aberdeen. She worked at Caesars Restaurant and later at the Dakota Sizzler from 1977 until it closed in 1988. Florence worked at Small Wonders Day Care and later with Foster Grandparents Program for 10 years until retiring in 2002, due to ill health. Florence enjoyed reading and playing cards with her family.
