DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elijah by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elijah:
Wagner-8197 and Waggoner-1760 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles are obviously the same person. Waggoner-1760 is a profile recently created by me as a result of him showing up as the MRCA of a DNA match with a 3rd cousin from my family tree. When I looked to create his spouse this previous profile for Wagner-1897 popped up. The last name in most of the Census records is recorded as Waggoner. The surname seems to have begun to be changed with the next generation, sometimes becoming Wagoner and sometimes Wagner. The bulk of the evidence indicates that Waggoner is the most likely surname for Elijah Waggoner m. Mary Ann (Mooney) Waggoner family. Apparently Elijah Waggoner could neither read nor write but Mary Ann was probably literate.
