Ann (Wake) Linton was born in Yorkshire, England.
This profile is part of the Eastrington, Yorkshire One Place Study.
Ann was born in 1852[1] in Hull, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of John Wake and Mary Ann Rooley; in 1861 the family lived in Skirpenbeck, Yorkshire.[2]

At the time of the 1871 census Ann worked as a servant for the Harrison family in Skirpenbeck.[3]

She married Thomas Linton in Eastrington, Yorkshire, in 1872.[4][5] In 1881 the family lived in Gilberdyke, where Thomas was a farm labourer,[6] and by 1891 they had moved to Canal Bank in the parish of Wallingfen, Yorkshire.[7] Thomas and Ann lived on Batty Lane in Howden, Yorkshire, in 1901.[8] Thomas died in 1908 at the age of 54.[9]
