Biography

I am the 2nd daughter of 7 children of Donald Eugene and Rita Gladys (Aldous) Wakenight. I was born in Sterling, Whiteside, Illinois on November 22, 1964. I grew up in Prophetstown, Whiteside, Illinois for most of my early childhood. After my father passed away, I moved to Mesquite, Clark, Nevada, with my mother and her sister (my aunt), Sheila LaBar.

Since 2008, I have been very interested in genealogy. My mother did not know much about her family's past except for her aunts and uncles. She asked if I could find out more about her grandparents and great-grandparents.

As I started to delve into our ancestors' history, I became engrossed in all the data that I found. There was so much information available to help in this search, that I was able to trace the lineage back to Roger de Aldous (b 1400 in Fressingfield, Suffolk, England).

After that I was hooked! I love genealogy and the stories that it unfolds!
