Deacon John Waldo of Windham fought in the Revolutionary War[1] as did a number of his siblings. A biography of his life and listing of his nine children are found in Genealogy of the Waldo Family[2]. John's marriage year could be 1750 or 1751. The marriage was recorded at Windham according to Lincoln, so likely the ceremony occurred in that vicinity. His bride was from Boston.
Deacon John is thought to have resided in New York (Albany area) at the time of the Revolution, and later removed to Virginia with his son John[3]. He served as a private in the Albany County militia under Colonel Peter Yates[4]. He passed away in a part of Virginia that is now West Virginia.
